Volley Llamas Playoffs 2018

Our Volley Llamas 2018 team finished the regular season solidly in 2nd place in the ten team league.  Dig Pink finished in 1st place with only 3 losses (2 imposed by Volley Llamas) and Scrappers finished in 3rd place.

The Volley Llamas summer season ended after reaching the finals after playoff wins 2-0 over Balls Deep and Scrappers before a 2-1 loss to Dig Pink in the finals.

Thanks to  BillieJo Davis, Joshua Darrow, Kathryn Skelly Muller, Tim Reed, Chris Poore and Ron Haier for their play. Thanks go to Isabelle Moo, Sara Mierek, Andy Haier, Matt Kochan, and Connor Ludwin for contributing during the summer. The league at Adirondack Lanes always manages to pull off the tricky combination of competition and fun.

The Volley Llamas Win Wednesday Night Volleyball League

Last night the Volley Llamas won the Adirondack Lanes Wednesday night Volleyball Championship.  After finishing 2nd in the nine team league during the regular season the Volley Llamas won three matches:

  • 2-0 versus the Sandy Balls
  • 2-0 versus Hits and Giggles (Team Five)
  • 2-1 versus Hakuna Matata

After losing the 1st game to Hakuna Matata  25-20 the Volley Llamas carried small leads through the next two games to win. Part of our playoff strategy was to play four men and rotate additional female setters to avoid fatigue.  We played our best games at the right time.  We played an excellent defensive game as I cannot recall us giving them points by hitting the ball out of bounds or serving out.

The night of the banquet we got our t-shirts and Ron, JoAnn, Jim Kathryn, Rich and Margaret were in attendance.
